Just a quick post to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving! I would also like to take a minute to tell our fearless leader, Lorrie, how much I appreciate her and Scrapbook Fever! Lorrie, you have a great store and I'm glad to be a part. Thank you!!! Julie, thanks for the great work on the website and blog --- love, love, love it. Dear customers, we couldn't do it without all of you.

Fun website!
I came across a really cool website that has a template for a great 3 dimensional star. I'm thinking ornaments, cards, even scrapbook pages could benefit from this cool trick! You just print on the paper of your choice, cut out and fold!

Heritage
This week we got the new Creating Keepsakes book by Becky Higgins called "Family History Scrapbooking". It is fantastic! It has lots and lots of ideas and tips plus all sorts of sketches in the back.
The timing is great as this week ends my series of the 20 page heritage album using the Karen Foster "My Legacy" papers and embellishments. Saturday I will be offering all four classes back to back. If you are interested in creating a special 20 page album, be sure to sign up soon. I have had a blast making the samples and working on my own album.

Sometimes those old pictures....
just aren't fun or easy to work with! I am slowly going through my dh old nameless pictures. Most of them are not very good and there are no names and very few dates. We are plodding through, putting names on the ones we can!I was so stumped with these that I cut into circles and along came "Ms. Walk on Water Heritage Expert Janet"Friday night at the crop and helped me right out!! Love this Cosmo Cricket paper and embellies!! Used the Cricut Base Camp Font and my QK font! Thank you, Janet! Pam

Have you seen the prize package you could win?
We have the prize package for the November Blog Contest up at the store. Be sure to take a peek while you are checking out! It is full of goodies and retails for more than $50!
All you have to do is share your pieces of art with us by emailing us a photo to roundrockfever@aol.com We'll post your submissions on our webpage and our Fever team will vote for their favorite. Janet, one of the fabulous artists that works at Scrapbook Fever has this one to share to inspire you to share yours!
Janet's comments: I picked up this accordion album kit at the Scrapbook Expo last month. It is a 5" accordion folded album by Bazzill and decorated with the new Basic Grey Fruitcake papers and the Basic Grey Christmas rub-ons. The wrap around was supposed to slide off and on, but I wanted to use the Basic Grey magnets. I matted the 3" square on chipboard (with a dogtag punched out on the back for the placement of the magnets). I love playing with the opening. I have not used the Basic Grey rub-ons much, but man were they easy, and good looking. I also used the Crop-a-dile and the jumbo eyelets from We Are Memory Keepers. I also used the Basic Grey tags coordinating tags and I scrapped out side my box by using the chipboard shapes that came in the kit. I chalked all the edges with the Color Box fluid chalks. And I used the Curvy Cutter to cut a circle on the back side. The kit showed only one side decorated, but upon the good advice of other Fever Team members I decorated both sides. I do love how it turned out. Sometimes I take tips that are offered! I will get the sample to the store by the weekend so you can all have fun with the magnets.
I can't wait to see the other gift ideas, so y'all get busy and post something fun. I might want to scrap lift a neat idea!!! -- Janet

Another Memories Complete Layout

Janet's Pick is Here!
Memories Complete
http://www.memoriescomplete.com/ideas/
I love the new Memories Complete double sided papers, die cuts and stickers. The blue layout is from the Boy line. I used the patterned papers as accents down the left side and to mat the photos. I used the chunky die cuts as elements. The blue dot strip is a die cut that I put through our new Queen & Company buckles. I also used some of the Queen & Company brads in two opposing corners. I have a 12x12 double page Christmas layout at the store using the round circle stickers and an 8 1/2 x 11 double page Christmas layout at home waiting to be scanned. I got all four pages out of 2 sheets of double sided patterned paper and one set of circle stickers with a little Bazzill. And I had lots of fun using my new Curvy Cutter to make my own circle accents.
We also got some great $1 items from Memories Complete. The family paper pack comes with five sheets of coordinating papers. I also used the word stickers, the accent stickers and the letter stickers on this layout. The only extras I used on the layout was a piece of ribbon from Basic Grey and a few Making Memories rub-ons. I have quite a few albums that I started years ago that are the 8 1/2 x 11 format. I enjoy going back and making these smaller pages as a change of pace.

Food, Fun and Friends at the Scrapathon!
We had such a great time at the Scrapathon this past weekend. Thanks to all who joined us to scrap, eat and scrap some more. The bean salad that Lorrie served at lunchtime was a big hit--so here is the recipe for those who wanted it :)
Lorrie's 4 Bean Salad
4, 8-oz cans of beans (I used red kidney, pinto, black and great northern)
Other possibilities ...cut green beans, lima beans
1 purple onion or sweet onion, chopped
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup salad oil
1/4 cup sugar
Drain canned beans. In large bowl combine beans and chopped onions. Whisk together vinegar, oil and sugar. Pour vinegar mixture over vegetables and toss lightly. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or over night, stirring occasionally. Drain before serving. Serves 8.
