April Sketch is Here!

The sketch is early! No foolin'! I took the liberty to post Patti's sketch on the blog so that you could get it here before you can get it at the store. Click on the image above and you'll get a bigger picture. Then pull out those scraps and create. Be sure to bring the sketch in and show it off during the month of April. Everyone who brings in a sketch will be eligible for a drawing at the end of the month.

Friday Blog Contest!!!

Hello Fever friends! We are feeling very spring-y at Scrapbook Fever as we have just recieved all kinds of spring papers and gorgeous Making Memories paper flowers. There are also all kinds of new classes blooming!

So, bring in a layout (can be 1 or 2 pages) with at least one flower on it and you'll be able to purchase any package of flowers at 15% off! This cannot be combined with any other coupons but can be combined with your gold or silver discount. You don't need to leave the layout--just bring it in to share. The special will run from now through Thursday the 5th. We can't wait to see your great layouts!

Hello blog readers! Did you notice? We made a mistake and forgot something really important: our weekly blog contest! We are so sorry. . . let me explain . . .

We having been rearranging the store--we have lots of new things in the planning stages, making more room for product, classes and a few surprises. And we were so busy using our brains (brainstorming) and muscles (lifting) on Friday that we completely forgot our blog readers! But we are going to make it up to you!

We'd love to hear your opinion on the store's new layout! So come in, look around and post a comment about our new arrangement with your email address and we'll email you a code for 40% off any regularly priced item! We'll run this contest through next weekend (Sat. the 30th) to give you time to get in. And we'll do another blog contest on Friday--we promise not to forget :)

Pretty paper, pretty pretty paper!

See that great packet of Daisy D's Girlfriends paper down there? Yep, we just got that in today. Also their amazing, ethereal, elegant Beacon Hill collection and the whimsical and classic Butterfly collection, both in single sheets. You've got to see them in person to believe them!

I am so loving all the new Rusty Pickle goodies we got in! This is a layout I did yesterday using a bunch of the new stuff. I think the big chipboard letters may be gone already but they flew out the door so fast I'm sure we'll reorder them. Let us know if you want us to save you a set.

Hello all! Been a bit scarce around here with Spring Break upon us! I hope you are all enjoying a bit of time off if you have it, and enjoying springtime if you don't.

Lots of new cool stuff in the store right now--Rusty Pickle (loving the beachy line so much!) several different lines, including more of the Chocolate Bunny papers :)

And the SEI lines are in, some amazing sparkly papers, and more! So springy and fresh!

Patti's St. Paddy's Day Crop!

Saturday March 17th. Come in for dinner and scrapping--6pm til who knows when!

Hosted by 'Fever Leprechaun' Patti. Dinner will be provided, that staple of Irish cuisine, the spud, with all the fixins--followed by Irish Coffee later in the evening.

In keeping with our Irish for a Day theme, please bring an Irish (ex: soda bread) or green (ex: guacamole) treat to share.

There will be a drawing for a lucky shamrock surprise and if you scrap something green your green cardstock will be provided free!

$6 per person--call soon to reserve your spot!

Scrapathon Tiramisu

We've had several requests for the recipe we served at the Scrapthon so here you go!

Tiramisu
from Gourmet Magazine

Expresso Syrup:
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup strong brewed espresso coffee
1/4 cup Italian or domestic brandy, optional

Mascarpone Filling:
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 pound mascarpone cheese, softened to room temperature
1/2 pound savoiardi (imported Italian ladyfingers), domestic ladyfingers, or sliced sponge cake Finishing Cocoa powder for dusting the surface

For the syrup, combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat, cool and add coffee and optional brandy.

For the filling, whip cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Fold cream into softened mascarpone.

To assemble, place a layer of the savoiardi, ladyfingers or sponge cake slices in the bottom of a shallow 2-quart baking dish or gratin dish. Sprinkle with half the syrup. Spread with half the filling. Repeat with remaining savoiardi, syrup and filling, spreading the top smooth, using a metal spatula.

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before serving. Immediately before serving place cocoa in a fine strainer and shake a light coating on surface.

What a Blast!

We had such a great time on our 3rd Bus Tour! I had the pleasure of spending the day with a wonderful group of funny, creative ladies from Scrapbook Fever and Scrapbook Crossing. I am so glad you all joined in the fun and you can pick up your CD with photos of the day (some good, some you can tell the photographer was distracted by all the scrappy eye candy) later on this week.
