Tool and Techniques!

Tools & Techniques: Have you got some tools for scrapbooking and have them in your drawer and thought maybe someday “I will learn how to use these”. This class will show you how to use them. The crop-a-dile, circle, square and oval cutter, the Fastenater, any eyelet setter. You can bring any of your tools that you need to know how to use and we will show you how to use them. We will answer your questions about how to use them and give you new ideas of ways to use them. You will learn how to layer your pages and making a mini book that night. $20 (Susan) Wed 1/30 & Wed 2/13, 6-8

A Really Unique Class . . .

Calendar, Cards & Crop: Do you have your special dates and cards organized for 2008? How about a hand made calendar using the Bind It All filled with 24 handmade cards? Your calendar will have 13 months (Jan ’08 – Jan ’09), pockets for cards and a listing of special holidays. All of the supplies and images for 24 cards will be included in the class. You will be able to pick the sentiment for many of the cards so that you have a great selection of all occasion cards. The class instruction for creating the calendar will be about an hour and half and the remaining time will allow you to create cards at your own pace. 4x6 Mini Album: Did you get a Bind It All and Dreamkuts for Christmas? Are you wanting one? Come see what you can do with these remarkable tools. If you have either or, bring them otherwise the class will share the store’s machines. We will make a 4x6 mini album with chipboard covers. You will choose your papers and some embellishments as part of the class fee. Please make your paper choices when you sign up or sometime before the beginning of the class so that we have plenty of time to create. PYOP $20 (Janet) Mon 1/21 & Tues 2/19, 6-8

Tea Bag Folding Class: Whether you have taken a previous tea bag folding class or not, this one is for you. We will make 2-4 cards depending on time with a tea bag folding design. Your family and friends will think you are the most creative person alive when they see these unique cards. Valentine Card & Bookmarks – Mom & Me Class: Would you and your child (age 7 & up) like to create handmade valentines this year? We have designed 4 bookmarks and custom fit envelopes for class giving or handing out. You will also make one card that will hold a smaller bookmark that can be mailed. We will be using Daisy D papers and embellishments. Some sewing with needles and thread was used on the sample. NO CHOICE $20 (for both Mom & child) (Janet) Saturday 2/02, 1-3

Why Do I Scrap?
I thought I would take a few minutes at the start of this new year and reflect on Why I Scrap? You see, this is the only habit/hobby/addiction that seems to follow me year after year. I usually get bored or am tempted by the newest fads. But, for some reason scrapping is in my blood. It is part of what makes me who I am. It is a refuge when times get tough…
So, since there is a writer’s strike going on, I thought I would give David Letterman some material he could use and copy off of the TOP 10 REASONS theme (ha!). So here are my top 10 reasons.

1. It causes me to stop, take a break and reflect on the wonderful
times I share with my family and friends.
2. It is therapeutic. It helped me through the loss of my Dad.
3. Scrapping provides a forum for much needed girl time! I don’t know
what people do without girlfriends!
4. I get to use the creative side of my brain!
5. It’s all about ME! And it is okay. Nobody judges…
6. Crops afford me the time to reflect on being a good wife and
Mother. The women I meet are an inspiration and a great support system and wealth of knowledge.
7. I’ve met some of my dearest friends at classes, conventions and
seminars associated with Scrapbooking.
8. I get to RELIVE all of my memories and good times – over and over
again.
9. It gives me one on one time with my sister.
10. It is the one hobby that gives back to my family. I don’t have to feel
guilty, because it is a good, clean habit that provides benefit to my family and future generations.

Well, that was kind of fun! I challenge each of you to think about the reasons you scrap. You might be surprised at how much you get out of this WONDERFUL hobby of ours. And, although David Letterman will never use it, the journaling will make a great start to a layout about YOU!

Memorable Moment of 2007 Contest

We're offering a different contest to start off the new year. We would love for you to reminisce a bit and create a one page layout depicting your most memorable moment of 2007.
