Are you ready???? It's time to get ready!!!! The Second Annual World Card Making Day is just around the corner and Scrapbook Fever will be hosting a day full of card classes, a swap and a crop on Saturday, October 6th. We are still ironing out the details, but it will be here before you know it. There are already new card kits on the floor for sale. What better way to jump start the card day than with a kit or two to get you started. Check out the new Karen Foster product that arrived last week. She has come out with some great card elements and papers. Keep watching the store for new product and ideas. It's not to early to start on your holiday cards or maybe create a gift of personalized cards for someone special.
Follow the link on the left for more information regarding World Card Making Day. I have added an except from that website to better acquaint you with the concept.
Holiday History Card MakingWorld Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine in an effort to bring card makers together at the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, Paper Crafts recognized the need to expand, and the holiday transformed into World Card Making Day.
Now in its second year, World Card Making Day has been expanded to include a dedicated web site; a wider, more inclusive level of sponsorship; and a marketing campaign designed to get the word out at the grassroots level. These steps were taken in hopes of uniting the card-making community (hobbyists, retailers, manufacturers, and more) and celebrating the connection and creativity that is at the heart of card making.
