Celebrate fall with the perfect recipe!

Pumpkin Muffins

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
pinch of ground allspice
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, at room temp.
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup (packed) light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup canned unsweetened pumpkin puree
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
about 1/3 cup sunflower seeds, for topping.

Center a rack in the oven and preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Butter or spray 12 cupcake molds in a regular-size pan or fit with paper cups. Place the pan on a baking sheet.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Set aside.
Working with a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment or with a hand mixer in a large bowl, beat the butter at medium speed until soft. Add both the sugars and continue to beat until light and smooth.
One by one, add the eggs, beating for a minute after they are incorporated, then beat in the vanilla.
Lower the mixer speed and mix in the pumpkin and buttermilk. Add the dry ingredients in a steady stream, mixing only until they disappear. To avoid overmixing, you can stop the machine early and stir in any remaining dry ingredients into the batter using a rubber spatula.
Stir in the raisins and nuts. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups and sprinkle a few sunflower seeds over the top of each muffin.
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center of the muffins comes out clean.
Transfer the pan to a rack and cool the muffins for 5 minutes in the pan, then carefully remove each one from its mold to finish cooling on the rack.

Julie's note: I changed these up a bit, I used chocolate chips instead of nuts and raisins and left off the sunflower seeds. Yes, less healthy, but more apt to be eaten by children (and my hubby!) I also was out of buttermilk, so I used light egg nog--delicious!

My Town Papers

Hi folks, Janet here... look at what I did using custom papers from My Town Papers (http://www.mytownpapers.com/).

I was cropping with some friends last weekend and started working on this little mini album. We were expecting out of town company and it would be their first visit to Austin, so I thought it would be fun to make a little scrapbook. I stayed up WAAAaaayyyy to late the night before they arrived, but I got it finished. I used Austin (TX) 03 for the chipboard cover and cut a Cricut shape of the Texas Capital for the single embellishment. I used the Pioneer 5x7 refills for the inside pages. Inside I used the Round Rock Paper, the Austin paper, the Keep Austin Weird paper and the Texas theme paper. The pictures on the papers made great background papers for some of our local photographs. I hope you enjoy viewing as much as I enjoy sharing. The gift was a huge success!

Fever Friends Crop

hello, all...........well, our beloved Scrapbook Fever has closed its doors.........sniff sniff sniff...........thank you, Lorrie, for all the wonderful memories and friendships we all found through your store..........

NOW, it's time to hang in there and keep connected * so, the Fever Friends Crop Group begins this Saturday, March 13!

Marie has arranged for us to use the Baha'i Center on Gattis School Road * free of charge (thank you, Marie!!) * just bring a snack for the Goodie Table. The Center has a full kitchen and lots of space for tables, and lots of outlets along the walls. and it's wheelchair accessible * which for us means there's a ramp to roll our various totes in easily!

We'll crop from 9 am to 11 pm and then clean up and reset the chairs for the Sunday morning Devotional service.

Breakfast and dinner are on your own (there are plenty of places nearby). for this first crop, Marie and I will be grilling hot dogs for lunch for everyone. we have the hot dogs, buns, and condiments. any additions for lunch would be appreciated.

Please leave a comment here by Thursday evening to let us know if you can join us, so we know how many tables and chairs to set up.

We'll check the comments here and send you a confirmation email to let you know we've got a spot for you!

Happy Scrapping!

Scrapbook Fever Must Say Goodbye

As some of you know, with our lagging economy, I had chosen not to sign another long term lease and was renting on a month-to-month basis with our center. Well the time has come for Scrapbook Fever to close its doors and say goodbye. I think that I can speak for all of the staff members when I say that we have very much enjoyed being a part of the Round Rock Community and it will be difficult to say goodbye to so many of you who have become our friends. Never could I have realized how personal this business would become and how many sincere friends I would make in the process. I sincerely thank all of you for your business and loyalty to Scrapbook Fever over these past 10 years. We have stocked up on Kleenex at the front register so please stop by..we will all be needing lots of hugs :))

All merchandise is now 25% off the marked price.
