August Sketch is Ready

I can't believe another month has passed. Here it already August and Scrapbook Fever has a new sketch. The sketch this month is designed Janet Bradshaw. It's fun and easy. She took an 8" x 8" square and put 4 - 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" photos on it. Next she double matted a 4" x 6" photo as the focal point. Before putting down the pictures she cut an 11 3/4" x 6" strip of patterned paper for a splash of color. She adhered the pattern paper, then the 8x8 and topped it with the 4x6. With some of the left over patterned paper she created a custom tag using the Making Memories Tag Frames. You could also put another small photo in the tag. She added a smaller cardstock tag for the date and then attached them to the page using the Paper Tagger & Tagger Tails by Around the Block. Finish off the page with your title and you are good to go. You could add a hidden journaling block or replace one of the square photos with your journaling.

Check out the sketch she did using the photos of her dad's long horns. I love the Texas paper and the subject matter is pretty cool too!

We have fun classes next week at the Fever.

Starting Monday is the much awaited Mystery Class! This class is so much fun you have 2 times to choose from: Monday 11-1 and Tuesday 7-9! Don't miss this opportunity to take this class and carry off something you will use for every occasion! That is all the hint you get:)

Wednesday from 7-9 is Julie's Travel Tin. It is an ephemera-filled little mini book in its own case! For this mini book, you'll provide basic supplies and a tin from your travels if you have one. We'll provide the rest including a tin if you don't bring one. This project is full of ephemera and we'll discuss many different ways to include little extras in with our scrapbooks. Tickets, postcards, letters, wine labels and more--all can provide unique additions for interesting and one of a kind albums Sign up today!

Thursday from 1-5 is the Boho Folio class. Pam teaches this 7 gypies album and we all love the 7 Gypsie look!! This class is chocked full of fun techniques to keep you busy for 4 hrs.

Santa’s Workshop–Star Album & Ornament

Get a jump start on those gift projects. This month we will be making a star album with peek through pages. You will chose the papers you want for your album. We will also create a small star ornament. This makes a great centerpiece or coffee table book. Come early to choose your papers. This will be a 2 ½ hr class. $20 (Janet) Thursday, 7/26 from 7:00 - 9:30 pm & Sunday, 7/29 from 2:00 - 4:30 pm

New Neighbor? No Old Neighbor, New Paper!

Look at the new local paper exclusively at Scrapbook Fever. Have you ever been visiting a place or friend and stop at the local scrapbook store? Remember how disappointing it is when you can't find paper or embellishments about the place or state you are visiting. We have a local paper company that is trying to remedy that when your friends come to Round Rock to visit you. We are adding specialty papers from Round Rock and surrounding communities.

The two page Round Rock paper was released a couple months ago. Scrapbook Fever hosted a suggestion box for the next release and it was Hutto, our neighbor just to the east. We've heard rumor that next may be Georgetown or possibly Austin. We'll be glad to share suggestions and ideas when the next paper design goes to the drawing board. Iris Folding Class

I know we have all looked at something super looking and wondered "how in the heck did they do that?" In this class you will learn the basic tea bag folded card and iris folding card. Well we want to see what other creative things our customers can do with those letters that we LOVE! Here's the scoop:

Letter used must be the EK Art Blanche lower case, flat letters. Decorate one letter using paint, paper, embellishments...anything goes! We will hang it in the store and customers will vote for their favorite creation. All contest entries are due on Friday, July 20th. Entries will be displayed in the store for voting until July 29th. Votes will be tabulated and the winner will be announced on Monday, July 30th.
