Friday Night's Class is Out of this World!
Janet is teaching her very popular Squish Book Class on Friday night! There are still a few spots available--isn't is just the coolest? You’ve seen those deceptive 6x6 albums that fall open when you lift the cover then you try to squish them back together. Come spend the afternoon with us and learn how to make your very own squish book. It’s fun and easy and so much fun that you’ll want to open and close it all day long. We will be incorporating many techniques and scrapbook elements into this one book. Don’t miss it! PYOP $20 (Janet) 6/1

Family Branches Album
Do you have heritage photos in a box collecting dust? Isn’t it time to get them out of the box and into an album. We have some great papers and fantastic tips for your heritage photos. We will create a 6” x 12” post bound album and learn different tips and techniques that you can use on any of your heritage layouts (Janet) Saturday, May 19 from 10 am to 1 pm.
Each page will demonstrate different techniques that can be used to translate to your heritage layouts in your albums. We will work with vellum, mulberry paper, matting, corner tabs, journaling, and more.
Your album will be unique to the photos you bring. We will get as many pages as possible done in this 3 hour class. You could possibly create 23 pages plus the cover page. I put 1 to 2 photos on each page with the height being no more than 5”. Copies are better to work with than originals because they can be resized. Bring what you can and we’ll work with that or give you tips and suggestions of what you could do with the images.
Class size is limited, so sign up soon.

Squish Album Class
Wow... just look at what you can do with a few sheets of paper, some folds and a little glue. You will create an album that you won't want to put down. You can put as many or as few pictures in here as you want. This sample has over 35 photos on the pages and inside the matchbook and gatefold albums and on the tags. You choose the papers to match your pictures and Janet will show you how to put it all together. You will also get to use the Crop-a-dile to punch through chipboard and to set some eyelets. This is one class that you won't want to miss. It's on the calendar for this Saturday at 11 a.m. If you haven't made a gift for your mom for Mother's Day, try your hand at this one! See you there!
Did you know?
We've added an extra Scrappy Hour this week! Join Patti for croppin craziness on Friday, May 11 from 6-11! It is half price all month and we are loving our new expanded space! I think there may even be a prize giveaway!

Our First Mini Retreat--What a Blast!!!
We had the best time at our 1st Mini Retreat this weekend! What a great group of ladies--and did they ever get a lot done! The Retreat winner of our $50 gift certificate was Carol Grady. We had lots of other prize winners too. And one thing everyone wanted to know was the recipe for the Cucumber Sandwiches that Lorrie made! Here you go:
Benedictine Sandwiches
1 medium cucumber ( buy the seedless ones at Sams)
1 small onion
1 (8 oz) cream cheese softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash hot pepper sauce
Thinly sliced white bread (I used Pepperige Farms Whole Grain)
Mayonnaise
Peel cucumber and slice in half lengthwise; remove seeds with a small spoon (or buy seedless). Place cucumber in a food processor and pulse about 5 times until cucumber is minced. Place cucumber into a small glass mixing bowl. Place onion in the food processor, pulsing until it is finely chopped. Add onion to cucumber. Add cream cheese and stir well with a spatula. Add salt & hot sauce and mix well. Spread a small amount of mayonnaise on bread, then spread mixture. Also delicious as a cool dip for summer!
I'll post the recipe for Derby pie in a couple of days!

May Classes and May Sales!!! Don't Miss Out!
Round up your buddies and sign up for the May classes. Our class room has been expanded to accommodate more folks and more fun. I've heard rumors that Mystery Class is going to spur your creativity and wow the locals. It's a secret so you won't see the project you won't know the instructor until you come to the class. You will be notified in plenty of time before the class as to what you need to bring with you. May 30th and 31st are the dates.
Sign up this weekend when you come in for the National Scrapbook Day Sale where everything in the store is 20% off on top of your gold or silver discount. Now's the time stock up on supplies and schedule in those classes you want to take. Class prices are not subject to the discount, but don't wait to sign up!
In the Sexy Scissors class you will make a fast cute album and even pull out those decorative edged scissors that have been collecting dust. This albums is sure to be a favorite.
